Spongy Lever? Squeaking?
Don't Wait for the Grind.

It starts small. The lever feels a little soft. There's a squeak you ignore. The fluid in the reservoir turns dark. Then one day it's metal on metal — and now you need rotors, not just pads. That's an expensive repair that didn't have to happen. Bring it in before the grind. We'll inspect everything, tell you exactly what it needs, and back it with the same guarantee: no fix, no charge.

Brakes Don't Heal. They Get Worse.

Here's how it usually goes. The lever starts feeling soft — you squeeze further before anything happens. Maybe there's a squeak when you stop. The brake fluid in the sight glass looks more like coffee than apple juice. You tell yourself you'll deal with it next season.

Then the squeak becomes a grind. The pads are gone. The backing plate is carving grooves into your rotors. What could have been a pad swap and fluid flush is now a full rotor replacement — triple the cost, easily.

We see this all the time. And we see the other thing too: shops that quote rotors when all you needed was pads. We don't do that. We show you what we find. You decide.

  • Brake Pad Inspection & Replacement — Worn, glazed, or unevenly worn pads get replaced. We use OEM or proven aftermarket.
  • Brake Fluid Flush — Fluid absorbs moisture over time. Dark fluid is contaminated fluid. We flush it, bleed it, restore the lever feel.
  • Rotor Inspection — We measure thickness, check for warping, look for scoring. If they're good, we tell you. If they're not, we show you.
  • Caliper Check — Sticking pistons, torn seals, uneven pad wear. We clean and lubricate or advise on rebuild.

No fix, no charge. If we can't resolve your brake issue, you don't pay. We don't charge for guesswork.

Book Brake Inspection
Soft Lever?

Air or moisture in the fluid. Old fluid. A leak. We find it.

Squeaking?

Worn pad indicator or glazed pads. Easy fix if caught early.

Grinding?

Metal on metal. Pads are gone. Stop riding. Bring it in now.

Dark Fluid?

Contaminated. Moisture has compromised it. Needs a flush.

What Happens If You Wait

Brake problems follow a predictable path. The further down you go, the more it costs. Here's what we mean.

Stage 1
Soft Lever / Squeak

Pads wearing thin. Fluid aging. Simple pad swap or flush. Lowest cost.

Stage 2
Dark Fluid / Longer Stops

Fluid breaking down. Pads nearly done. Pad replacement and full flush. Moderate cost.

Stage 3
Grinding / Vibration

Pads gone. Rotor damage likely. Pads, possible rotors. Getting expensive.

Stage 4
Metal on Metal

Rotors destroyed. Calipers possibly damaged. Full brake overhaul. Avoid this.

Wherever you are on this list, bring it in. We'll give you an honest assessment and a clear quote. No fear-mongering, no upsell.

Brake Service Questions

My brake lever feels soft. What does that mean?

Usually air or moisture in the brake fluid, or fluid that's broken down and needs replacing. It can also indicate a small leak. We'll diagnose it — often a fluid flush restores proper lever feel.

Why is my brake fluid dark?

Brake fluid absorbs moisture over time. When it darkens, it's contaminated and its boiling point drops. That means under hard braking, the fluid can overheat and you lose pressure. Dark fluid needs a flush — not a top-up.

I hear grinding when I brake. How bad is it?

Grinding means your pads are completely worn through. The metal backing plate is now contacting the rotor. Stop riding immediately. You may need pads and rotors, but you won't know until we inspect it. Don't keep riding — it only gets more expensive.

Do I need new rotors or just pads?

Depends on rotor thickness and condition. If they're above minimum spec and not scored or warped, pads alone may be enough. We measure and show you. No guesswork, no unnecessary rotor quotes.

How much does it cost to ignore my brakes?

A pad swap and fluid flush is a few hundred. New rotors, pads, and possibly caliper work is easily triple that. The math is simple: early service costs less.
