Coming Out of Winter Storage?

Been sitting for months? Wake it up the right way.

Three Reasons. One Solution.

🏍️ Heading Out on a Trip?

You've got the route planned, the bags packed, the boys ready. But when's the last time someone actually checked your chain tension, brake pad thickness, or tire pressure? A breakdown two hours from home ruins more than your day — it ruins the trip. We go through the entire bike before you leave. Tires, brakes, chain, sprockets, fluids, lights, cables, fasteners. You ride out knowing nothing's about to let go.

🔍 Just Bought a Used Bike?

It looks clean. Starts up fine. But what did the last owner skip? We do a full pre-purchase-style inspection — even if you already bought it. We'll tell you exactly what it needs, what's coming due, and what's fine. If you need a safety certificate, we'll prep the bike to pass. We don't issue the certificate, but we make sure there are no surprises when you take it in. (Note: I prepare bikes for inspection but do not issue safety certificates.)

❄️ Coming Out of Winter Storage?

It's been sitting for months. The battery might be weak. The fuel might be stale. Tires could have flat spots. Mice might have found the airbox. Before you fire it up and head out on the first warm Saturday, let us wake it up properly. We check the battery and charging system, drain old fuel if needed, inspect tires, top up fluids, lube the chain, and make sure the brakes aren't seized. First ride of the season should feel good — not like a gamble.

  • Tires — Pressure, tread depth, cracks, flat spots from sitting.
  • Brakes — Pad thickness, rotor condition, fluid age and level.
  • Chain & Sprockets — Tension, wear, lubrication, alignment.
  • Fluids — Oil, coolant, brake fluid. Level, condition, leaks.
  • Battery & Charging — Voltage, cranking power, charging output.
  • Lights & Controls — Headlight, signals, brake light, horn, switches.
  • Fasteners — Axle nuts, pinch bolts, caliper bolts, handlebar clamps.

No fix, no charge. If we find something wrong and can't fix it, you don't pay for the diagnosis. That applies here too.

Inspection & Tune-Up Questions

I'm going on a multi-day trip. What should I check?

Tires, brakes, chain, fluids, lights, and fasteners are the essentials. We check all of it — plus anything else that could leave you stranded hours from home. Better to find a loose bolt here than on the side of the highway.

I just bought a used bike. Can you tell me what it needs?

Yes. We do a full inspection and give you an honest list: what's urgent, what's coming due, and what's fine. If the bike needs a safety certificate, we'll prep it to pass. We don't issue the certificate, but we make sure the bike is ready when you take it in.

My bike has been sitting all winter. What needs to be done?

Battery usually needs charging or replacement. Fuel may have gone stale. Tires can develop flat spots. Brakes might be stuck. We go through everything — fluids, battery, tires, brakes, chain — and make sure it's ready for the first ride of the season.

Do you issue safety certificates?

We do not issue safety certificates directly. But as a licensed motorcycle technician, I know exactly what's required. We'll go through every item on the safety checklist and make sure your bike is ready to pass before you take it in.

How long does a full inspection take?

Typically 1 to 2 hours depending on the bike and what we find. If additional work is needed, we'll give you a clear quote and timeline before touching anything.
